PROGRAM INTRODUCTION
Student inventors’ area of the Estonian Science Agency
In the ETAG area, real student inventors themselves will share inspiration on how to start inventing, who will present their inventions, open the path to reach them, and help all participants to craft it. At the end of the workshop, each participant can think about which problem he would like to offer a solution to with his invention. You can also see the exhibition of student inventors’ prototypes.
Digipurk
Digipurk offers services related to robotics, automation and the Internet of Things, conducts courses and workshops on robotics and programming for both children and adults, and offers various tools for building inventions in the online store. Digipurk offers as many as three exciting workshops at the Great Inventors Festival.
Thermometer construction workshop
The thermometer is used both in simpler smart home solutions and in complex industrial automation devices, for example, for automatic switching on and off of heating and cooling systems. to turn off. In this workshop, however, we will build a cool thermometer that shows the result with colorful little lamps. With it you can measure your own temperature or check how cold or warm the water running from the tap is. In the workshop, we use the Arduino Uno development board, get acquainted with various electronic components and learn to connect them together. This development board is also used in the creation of various prototypes.
Parking sensor construction workshop
The ability to avoid obstacles in front is indispensable for any moving robot. For this, he uses so-called “special eyes”, which are also used when parking cars. If something happens while reversing, then it will be signaled by sound. In this workshop, we will build a ready-made parking sensor. We measure the distance of objects and signal with a sound and small lights of different colors when something gets too close. In the workshop, we use the Arduino Uno development board, get acquainted with various electronic components and learn to connect them together. This development board is also used in the creation of various prototypes.
Matata Robot Control Workshop
Matata is a cute little robot that lets you learn programming through play and hands-on activity. The robot is controlled by programming blocks. In addition, it is possible to make music and draw pictures and patterns with felts. In this workshop, you can test for yourself what this tiny robot is capable of. We make the robot move as we wish, play nice music and draw beautiful pictures.
CTF Tech
CTF Tech, a cyber security company whose mission is to introduce and teach cyber security to young people, will bring the “CTF Cyber School” to the festival, where we will learn cyber hygiene and solve cyber puzzles.
Beet washing machine
The Beet Washing Machine is a joint exhibition project of the Estonian Road Museum, the Estonian Agricultural Museum and the Tartu City Museum about invention and ingenuity, which brings two fun workshops to the Great Festival of Inventors.
Beet secrets
We make ink or water colors on site. In addition, it is possible to cut stamps out of beetroot and make Christmas cards with them, for example, or make patterns on used paper shopping bags to use as wrapping paper at Christmas.
Horsepower to horsepower
By disassembling and assembling the internal combustion engine, we try to find confirmation of statements that are incomprehensible at first glance:
* an empty stomach makes the mind vivid
* thought makes the invisible visible
* potable water burns in the engine
* rotation promotes progress
* fire cools
* flue gases allow you to breathe more freely
* the weakest part makes the machine more durable
AHHAA
Science Center AHHAA brings you two spectacular science shows on both days of the festival.
An effective interlude
In this performance, you will see the best pleas of AHHAA Science Theater! For example, mystical color reactions, puffs of fog, fireworks and explosions. All this in an educational but fun way!
The charms of water
In this theater we explore the formation and magical states and physical and chemical properties of water. In addition, we set fire to both the maker of science theater (completely safely!) and the water itself. Ordinary water is a surprisingly interesting substance. In addition to making life possible and being a great thirst quencher, water has several other useful tricks up its sleeve.
Mossy
Mossy is a start-up company created by Estonian youth, which started as a student company created at school. The company produces environmentally friendly air purifiers, whose filters are only natural materials, and which are also eye-catching design elements. Mossy is the winner of the 10th season of the Negavati green ideas competition, among the biggest achievements is also reaching the finals as one of the youngest teams in the history of the “Brain Hunt” show. At the festival, you can learn more about innovative air cleaners and ask their creators all your burning questions.
Formula Student Team Tallinn
Check out one of the most impressive student projects in Estonia – the electric formula created by Formula Student Team Tallinn! It’s not just a formula, but engineering excellence that combines innovation, speed and precision. Can you imagine how, in 10 months, it is possible to build a competition-ready formula from scratch, which is able to impress the world’s top university teams at competitions? The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 2.5 seconds and achieve 3G lateral acceleration in a corner. Now you have the opportunity to see it with your own eyes, how dedication, passion and talent create something truly extraordinary!
Patent Office
The Patent Office invites you: come and learn to invent wisely!
Today it is difficult to protect your good ideas from malicious copycats, but not impossible! Together with patent expert Reelika, we will find out what kind of creative property can be hidden in your smart invention and how to effectively protect it. In a practical presentation introducing real inventions, children and young people can easily understand what a patent, trademark, design solution and copyright are and how to find them in your own invention.
