The PROTO invention factory offers a new and unique experience unlike anywhere else in Europe. From October 2019, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in an interactive fantasy world. You will get to experience the great scientific discoveries of past centuries – unique prototypes brought to life by cutting-edge 21st-century technology. Brimming with absorbing and educational activities for older and younger visitors alike, PROTO awaits explorers and adventurers from all over the world – beside the sea in North Tallinn, only 500 metres from the famous Seaplane Harbour.
PROTO invention factory will be open from 19 October 2019.

You’ll be moving around in a virtual reality, seeing 360 degrees around yourself and deciding what to do next. The VR experience begins with a short instruction and is accessible for everyone.

New exciting rooms for lively events
Whatever your event format, Noblessner foundry is probably perfect for it. There’s a unique atmosphere everywhere here – starting from the two conference rooms to the 650 m2 event hall. The exhibition hall with its unique artefacts is also a fresh idea for organising events.

Your little one will be entertained here by our ball track, a workshop for cogwheel assembly experiments, jigsaw puzzles and other stuff big and small, clever and educational.
Cozy café
All tired and hungry inventors are welcome to the PROTO café . The self catering café offers a varied and healthy street food for any tastes.

Virtual Reality is your gateway to the past and to marvelous world of fantasy! In PROTO with the help of this amazing technology, the complete environment will come to life!

NOBLESSNER
The history of the Noblessner shipyard goes back to 1912, when two Saint Petersburg businessmen – Europe’s foremost oil tycoon Emanuel Nobel and the owner of Lessner machine works Arthur Lessner – built Tsarist Russia’s most important submarine factory. Combining the surnames of the two men, the shipyard was named Noblessner.
The first meeting of the shareholders of the Noblessner shipyard was held on 8 January 1913 in the Saint Petersburg apartment of Emanuel Nobel. Shortly after, impressive limestone and concrete industrial buildings, including the Noblessner foundry, began to pop up on the site in Tallinn with astonishing speed. A total of 12 submarines would be built here between 1913 and 1917. Although the production of submarines ceased as Estonia gained its independence in 1918, ship repair and construction continued in the Noblessner area until August 2018. Today, Noblessner has been transformed into a quayside community, open to the public and the sea. It has historical industrial buildings, a seafront promenade, marina and newly developed residential and commercial spaces. Noblessner means cultural events, business, creativity, homes and maritime culture.
